Yes, hip hop is moving on up into the world of movie scores.

Pharrell and Hans Zimmer provided the coolest soundtrack for the summer blockbuster Despicable Me.

The Neptunes sound makes the animated comedy about a lovable villain and yellow pudgy minions even more of a delight. The summery sweet track “Pretty Girls” is a highlight. Robin Thicke shines on “My Life,” that nods to Stevie Wonder’s “My Cherie Amour.”
